- Baseball for Kids Weekend
- Hosted by Hall of Famer Wade Boggs, the 2008 Baseball for Kids Weekend, to benefit All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association was held over a weekend in March with a dinner and auction at A La Carte Event Pavilion in Tampa. On Sunday of the weekend, the day began with an autograph signing at Champs Sports at Tyrone Square Mall in St. Petersburg that included Tampa Bay Lightning star forward Vinny Lecavalier, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jeff Garcia and Boggs. - Heart and Hustle Award
- The Alumni Association created the Heart & Hustle Award in 2005, voted on by Alumni Major League players and presented annually to an active player who demonstrates a passion for the game of baseball and best embodies the values, spirit, and traditions of the game. Phillies right-hander Roy Hallday was the sixth recipient of the Heart and Hustle Award when he was announced as the winner at the 2011 Legends for Youth Dinner in New York. More »
- Legends for Youth Clinic Series
- Phil Niekro, Brooks Robinson and Harmon Killebrew have taken time to participate in the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Legends for Youth Clinic Series. The Alumni Association has conducted dozens of free clinics and helped thousands of children over the years. Our mission is to provide a fun, positive baseball experience; to provide children with positive role models at our life skills station, where we talk to them about substance abuse, stress the importance of education and help them recognize they have the ability to make positive decisions; and, to teach young ballplayers the game's fundamentals in a multi-station format. - Legends for Youth Dinner
- Established in 1999, the MLBPAA created the Legends for Youth Dinner to recognize former Major League players for their on-field accomplishments coupled with their off-field contributions to communities across the nation. In addition, the MLBPAA recognizes current players by presenting the National and American League Pitcher and Player of the Year Awards, the Dick Schaap Memorial Player of the Year Award and the Heart & Hustle Award, the winner of which is the player who demonstrates a passion for the game of baseball and best embodies the values, spirit and traditions of the game of baseball. - Swing with the Legends Golf Series
- Since 1984, the MLBPAA has staged a series of golf events featuring some of the greatest names to ever play the game. The roster of superstars represent a broad spectrum of Hall of Famers, All-Stars, Gold Glove Award winners, former major league heroes and characters of the game. Stan Musial, George Brett, Harmon Killebrew, Robin Yount, Jim "Mudcat" Grant, Tom Seaver, Vida Blue, Goose Gossage, Phil Niekro, Jim Palmer and many others. With this kind of lineup it's easy to see why we call the golf series, "Swing with the Legends." Full Schedule »
