What Your Charitable Donations Support
Promote baseball, involve former Major League Baseball players in community activities, inspire today's youth through positive sports images and raise funds to support important charitable causes.
The Alumni Association became a place where a player's drive for excellence and achievement on the diamond could continue long after he took his last steps off the playing field. It is a charitable, tax exempt, nonprofit corporation qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Many of baseball's leading players gravitate to the MLBPAA. Members include Hall of Famers, Cy Young Award winners, All-Stars and recipients of baseball's Gold Glove Award. Brooks Robinson, one of the game's greatest leaders, both inside and outside the clubhouse, serves as President.
"Baseball is a part of us as former Major League players and a part of America itself," Robinson said. "Promoting baseball is the primary purpose of the Alumni Association, and I can think of nothing we can do with more enthusiasm or conviction."
Your generous contributions support the Alumni Association's activities such as our Legends for Youth baseball clinic series, which provides more than 5,000 boys and girls the chance to share the diamond with alumni players each year. All these programs are AT NO COST to the children or their families.
In addition, your tax-deductible donations support the MLBPAA's charitable fundraising events, where approximately 1,000 alumni players donate their time each year to help local charities raise funds to support their causes. Through these efforts, charities such as Children's Hospitals, Boys & Girls Clubs, Special Olympics and many others have raised more than $11 million dollars.
Without the support of our donors and members, the Alumni Association would not be able to promote the game and raise funds to support important charitable causes.
