Position: Special Events Coordinator

Reports to: Manager of Special Events

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: $25,000.00 + full benefits after 90 days

Description: The Special Events Coordinator is responsible for the production, facilitation and execution of youth clinics and special events run by Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Planning and execution of new and established events
Manage event logistics, including, but not limited to: scheduling, budgets, guest lists, venue, travel, lodging and set up/break down
Serve as liaison between former players, current players and outside partners (charities, organizations, foundations, and other groups)
Collaborate with third party organizations for successful execution of events from conception to completion
Generating new events and networking while on the road and in office
Maintain and build relationships with team contacts, sponsors and third party organizations
Increase revenue and participation for youth clinics and Events Department
Work collaboratively with the Membership, Memorabilia, Marketing and Communication departments

Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
One to two yearsÂ’ experience in events, marketing and/or communications is preferred
Willing to travel extensively
Ability to maintain composure, think clearly and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
Comfortable speaking in front of large crowds
Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task on a variety of different projects
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Position: Inventory and Purchasing Staff

Reports to: Vice President of Operations

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: To be determined (benefits after 90 days)

Location: Colorado Springs, Colo.

Description: The Inventory and Purchasing Staff person will play an important role by managing all purchase orders for the acquisition of product and all inventory management.

Major League Alumni Marketing, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Creates purchase orders for the acquisition of product based on department manager's requests
Ensures accuracy of purchase orders and researches/reviews purchases for cost savings
Ensures purchases are within budget allowances and communicates with department managers to allocate inventory purchased to each department
May negotiate with suppliers to obtain prices and specifications
Familiar with standard purchasing concepts, practices, and procedures and how they relate to accounting and other departments
Responsible for recording, receiving and maintaining control of all inventory purchased
Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures to include quality control, receiving reports, inventory cycle counts and yearend inventory counts when necessary
Performs a variety of tasks, to include providing inventory and cost of goods reports to accounting and executive staff
Provides routine administrative support

Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

Bachelor's degree in a related field
Attention to detail
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Works under general supervision
A certain degree of latitude and creativity are required
Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task on a variety of different projects
Organized, self-starter, excellent verbal and written communication skills
1-2 years related experience

Major League Alumni Marketing


Major League Alumni Marketing is looking for a motivated individual who is looking to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced sports environment. Learning potential is endless in these positions, and interns get out of the experience what they put into it. While primarily intended as an educational experience, these internships are unpaid but will be compensated for travel.

MLBPAA Internships

The MLBPAA is currently seeking interns to spend a quarter/semester in an experience-driven environment. Growing with the MLBPAA, the internship program provides a well-rounded experience by exposing participants to all facets of the organization, including but not limited to the following: day-to-day business operations, sales/marketing, event management, fundraising/development, public/media relations, budgeting, membership development, memorabilia sales and technology.

Interns will learn through hands-on experiences working with the MLBPAA's Swing with the Legends charity golf series, the Legends for Youth baseball clinic series, Legends Games, the membership and fundraising departments and Major League Alumni Marketing. The Alumni Association's internship program provides ample opportunities for its interns to gain experience and/or college credit in the sports industry, including opportunities to manage MLBPAA events.

Qualifications:

Candidate must be working toward degree. Sports management/administration preferred
Candidate must have completed their junior year
Strong interpersonal skills
Creative, trustworthy and hardworking
